Managing the intermittency of renewable sources together with transient (hourly to daily seasonal) energy demands is one principal challenges delivering a net-zero system. Smart multifunctional thermo-chemical networks represent an alternative network and storage system, solution based on distribution via material rather than thermal energy, gas, fuels or electricity– option that has scope for integrated short- long-term storage. This first research work realise such system demonstrate how it might operate using smart control strategies fluids (TCFs) can be used as medium timely distribution. The experimental study also describes effect steady variable heat TCF regeneration performance estimates potential networks, which would particularly beneficial in buildings high consumption humidity control. proves practicality design idea network, governed by centralised control, regenerated loads capable supplying variety setting. economic were assessed, identifying temperature application scenarios savings more 60% compared conventional operation payback periods 6.6–9.7 years.
